A clear workflow

From reference to canvas

1

Import

Choose a reference from Photos and crop it inside the app.

2

Align

Center, fit, fill, move, scale, rotate, or adjust opacity.

3

Configure

Set physical canvas dimensions, then define the grid by count or cell size.

4

Export

Share the combined artwork, image only, or grid only as a clean PNG.

The workspace

Four tools. One calm workspace.

The canvas stays central while each focused inspector exposes only the controls needed for the current task.

Canvas

Start with real dimensions.

Choose an artist-paper preset or enter an exact physical size before building the grid.

  • Paper and canvas presets
  • Portrait and landscape orientation
  • Millimetres and inches

Grid

Build the grid your way.

Work by row and column count or specify the physical width and height of every cell.

  • Independent Count and Cell size values
  • Line color, width, and opacity
  • Optional cell diagonals

Image

Place the reference precisely.

Image Editing and Canvas Navigation are separate, so every gesture has a predictable result.

  • Move, pinch, and rotate around the gesture point
  • Center, Fit, Fill, Rotate, Reset, and Crop
  • Independent reference opacity

Designed for VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, dark mode, contrast, transparency, and motion preferences.

FAQ

Useful details

Does Drawing Grid upload my photos?

No. Your workspace stays in the app’s private on-device container and exports only when you choose to share.

Why are row and column labels missing from an export?

They are navigation aids. Exports intentionally contain the selected artwork and grid layers without editor chrome.

Which devices are supported?

Drawing Grid supports iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 and later.
